A convincing neural-repair story needs more than an interesting molecule. It needs experiments that can be trusted, outcomes that matter to patients, and a clear account of what happened when the original promise met a more demanding test. Dihexa and Cerebrolysin expose different weak points in that chain.

Dihexa's history includes a retracted paper on its proposed mechanism and separate mouse research reporting improved learning-test performance.[1][3] Cerebrolysin has reached randomized human trials, including a positive study of arm recovery after stroke, but the wider stroke literature raises difficult questions about consistency and serious adverse events.[4][5][6] These are not equivalent evidence problems. Nor do they turn the compounds into alternatives, complements, or a combination supported by research.
